Didn't even think about that. At the track i run at there is a vert termy running 7.9's. I don't think he has a roll bar.

well for the 8th i dont know that it matters. and maybe that is just a cecil dragway rule. I just know that there is a guy with a termi, the fastest one up there and he always shuts it down so that he doesnt run better then a 13.5, kicks ass to the 1/8 though. maybe its a MPH thing. thats why i said ask around, someone on here will know. I saw them make a guy with a kit shelby cobra stop running one day to becuase he ran a 12.9, no roof. and he had to have a jacket or firesuit to run at all i think. could be just their rules.

At the end of the day it comes down to what would you enjoy the most what would give you that feel and what is the head turner and brute performer. I love all mustangs but nothing grabs my eye like old muscle cars or a termi.

EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wanted one too and one day I will own one. I can go out any day of the week and see every color S197 ford has made. Where I live I might see one terminator a month and I have to drive to Nashville to see that. Go for it! One thing is for sure it will hold its value alot better. Don't get me wrong I love my car but, I get bent out of shape every time I see one.

I love my car, don't get me wrong... it's just that the termy's are more rare and are cheaper to make faster. Don't know. Will have to sleep on it.
Well, not literally sleep on it. It's a vert. my fat ass would rip the top

LOL. well the average joe wouldnt know a termie from a new edge sixxer, its not like it looks different? I mean we know, and we know what it is, but if your talking head turner, emay's car would pull a lot more lookers then any termie. hell jucos car the way it sits right now is more of a head turner to me. Like i said i guess im just partial. the s197 is the best looking stang ever and pound for pound the 3 vavle has tons of usable power potential. you cant put 700hp to the ground on a truly streetable car in anyway that shows up at the strip or on a road course anyway. Until someone proves me wrong thats what i beleive from my limited experience.

get the termy. if your serious about the track, dont run drag radials on 17 inch wheels. get a decent set of drag wheels and run a slick with some sidewall on it. put a brace on the irs, and launch the ever living shit out of it. that irs will hold just fine when the tire has some sidewall to give. its the drag radial guys that are hooking hard are the guys who are breaking half shafts. the cure for those is running the taller sidewall slick and if you do get wheel hop, get out of it. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH WHEEL HOP
anyways for 17.5k thats a great price and i say you should snatch it up. a helmet is mandatory no matter how fast you go in the 1/4 but im not sure of the roll bar rule but i think any vert faster than 12.99 has to have a roll bar. simple install and doesnt look bar either imo. i say get whichever is going to make you happy. whichever one you see yourself enjoying the most is the one you should get/keep |

i understand what you are saying. I agree with you too about looks. I'm just thinking about how you can pay $3,500 for a whipple on a termy and be in the 5-600hp range and not have to worry about breaking anything. With the s197 it cost at least $4,500 and you don't want to be over 450hp to be safe.

well i looked at your web page, and i think i have some reasoning as to why you arent selling things to the new edge guys, its because you have no parts available to the 2v/4v guys.

thats smokin man. You know what im saying though, there are some many, not just termis but gt500s and other blown cars that run crapy times. guys think yea its a termie 50 bucks for a pulley and im at 500whp and running low 11s. No your not, on paper, and in theory you are, but in real life, you probably arent. you gotta set it up right and that cost a little money, and you need slicks like you said. I bet that turbo termi has tons of top end.... what kinda 60 is he cutting? |

probably 1.80s or so, which all in all isn't great, but once it gets out of the hole and the boost hits, its freaking ridiculous. anyone who knows how to drive ad cant learn to put their power to the ground, should be able to make a 500 rwhp car run low 11s. im still trying to get a solid pass in mine and get it into the 10s

its also probably in an advantage of the turbo over the twinscrew at the track, not that straight up torq curve scorching the tires off,(not that he cant cook the tires) but its a smoother rise and lots more up top you think? |
