ford racing and steeda both offer black powdercoated valve covers.

its a very easy mod to do. If you want to be unique, I'd adventure taking yours off and sending them to a powdercoater. it will be much cheaper than buying another set already powdercoated from ford racing or steeda.

Here's another one - Livernois black powder coated and if you really want to be unique -- they can put your own custom text on there in place of their name.

CAUTION: Count the number of bolts your valve covers have. There are two different sets of valve covers out there.

Carbon fiber effect.

I had a friend at Wildhorse Racing in Murray Kentucky do mine in a carbon fiber effect. He painted them silver then screened them and painted black to give the effect seen on many speakers. It really came out nice, but took a lot of time.

^ +1 Some pics of them carbon fiber covers would be sweet. Fully agree with Timber, UniqueAutomotiveDesigns.com has some really nice ones and can do custom jobs, but can get alittle pricey.

Just sharing my experience with valve covers last weekend. I decided I wanted to paint them. When I removed them, I noticed that a few bolts on the driver side seemed to have a little more resistance than they should have. I thought to myself, "I hope this isn't a problem later when I go to put them back."

Well it was. Passenger side went back on with no problem. Driver side has 4 stripped holes in the head. I don't know if I did it, I don't see how I could have but maybe I did. Or maybe the heat over time kind of fused the soft aluminum to the bolts. It's an 05 so it's not brand new like yours is.

Anyway, I installed 4 helicoils yesterday. After that I was too tired, mentally and physically to put the cover back on. I checked the bolts and they do screw in ok now. Will put the cover back on tonight.

Way bigger nightmare than it was worth just to do what should have been a simple mechanical operation.
