Interestingly think about it, ls1's make what with a cam? 380 with just a cam? well guess what, with the brand new cams out our cars can make over 350.... i guarantee we will be in ls1 hci territory when we get mass produced intakes and heads.. PLUS we have 1.1 liter less! fuck chevy!

A man of my own heart.

with the new grinds that are out now and intake manifolds, ported heads, 400whp is going to be no big deal n/a. that is like over 450 crank horsepower with 281cubic inches and very streetable as well which is the impressive part.

No doubt chevy has done impressive things with the pushrods but at the same time 427 cubic inch n/a engines makeing 500 and 600 hp isnt new, was happening 40 years ago. but getting the MPG and meeting emission standards and doing it is impressive.

Ford has taken a different direction but the 4.6 is turning out to be no slouch thats for sure.

07stanggt, these are what your custom grinds sound like? How much do you charge for them? I have a Kenne Bell blown 05 but I want some lopey cams and so far have not really heard any lopey cams for supercharged application. I've been asking around and no one really knows what answers to give me, can you help me out? I'm not too worried about the gains just I don't want to LOSE power (or boost). I don't mind switching out valve springs but I just need some straight up answers! I want to get cammed ASAP too btw!

07 Wat is the HP difference between these custom grind cams and the Stage 2 NSR cams that are not as agressive sounding?

Im not sure yet. silverstang had a before and after dyno done and gained 50hp and i think 17tq with some tuneing. Sounds high to me id like to see another dyno on that. not that i doubt his dyno or that he gained that. he gained 40 with no tune. the stage II cams are suppose to be 30 droped in and 40 with tuneing.

Well to be honest, look at your car. Are you NSR? if so, my point looks even better. With a radical street cam with springs required you can probobly pump out 370+rwhp, get some nice high flowing and lighter heads, we are looking at low 400's, intake manifold, mid 400's.. streetable.. stroke it.. over 500rwhp streetable.. I have the feeling these mod motors aint as bad as everyone thinks they are (well most chevy people)

Yes thats the same cam. Check out a thread titled silverstangs uber cam. I can do the cams for $675.

I knew they were hitting the market comp told me they had been working on these cams to market them. Its basically them bringing the thumper line to the 3 vavles. i just happened to call them for silverstang and they gave me a set. Im not sure what stage he has but im sure its one of them and from his dynos i would say it was a high stage.

You would not have to switch vavle springs but you do need phaser limiters with them. They are certainly not a ideal supercharger grind with a LSA of 110, its gonna bleed boost, but the duration is alright. I will talk to comp for you on this issue. what boost are you pushing?

I dont know about 500rwhp stroked, it would nice if your right, real nice for me. but i know of cars stroked to 298 with cams and heads, n/a makeing 400 to the wheels. that is an auto and that is not the newest or wildest cam either. but it is a tweaked manifold. I would say on a manual, 420 or maybe 430 should be attainable with the 298 stroker some heads and some of these new SPR cams. you could if you chose stroke this engine to 306 i think and then a .020 over bore would take you to what 320 something? that might get you up there for sure. maybe 450? i dont know.

highest rwhp I have seen from a stock displacement ported heads, bbr stage 2 cams, and tuned by BBR was 406 rwhp and it wasn't a driveable tune because of the a/f ratio and timing. I would say with a stroker, heads, cams, and every bolt on maybe 420 rwhp.

i would agree but some of these cams comeing out are makeing a lot more power then the bbr stage IIs or comp VSR line up. The new SPR cams some of them are makeing 60 and 70hp on stock heads. thats 20 or 30 hp more then i think comp or the bbr cams were makeing on stock heads. I dont know, we will see.

I'm running about 11 PSI right now but this a little different tune. I was running about the same PSI but at 486 rwhp but I did not want to run that much since I was on the stock block, not really sure what my tuner did but he changed some things around.

Like I said, I want a lopey cam, but if I'm going to bleed a lot of boost, I guess I should just use the money toward something else. What are your recommendations?
