when you lower a car the tires tend to camber in "lean in at the top of the tire" when adjusting it if you dont havethem you can max out the stock adjsutements and still not get the tire camberd correctly. camber plates allow for more adjustment. if the wheels arent camber corectly the wear very fast and unevenly, the caster is the the front to back adjustment. dont let people say cambering is in at the top and caspering is out at the top. caster is something differnt you prob should have to wory about with a basic drop

What year is your car? If it's an 05 or up and you lower it 2inches you may need them, but if you go with one of the standard 1.5 and 1 inch kits you wont need them. If it is 04 or below you will need them.
