New exhaust

Just bought the atak axel backs for my 12 GT. Has anyone heard there on the 5.0? If so is it obnoxiously loud where the cops or neighbours might get pissed off? This is my first mod on this car and it took me over a year to decide to commit. I'm just hoping I didn't make a mistake. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think they would be obnoxiously loud unless you had headers and an O/R mid pipe.

while not the attaks, I have an O/R H with S-Types and I promise you they are far louder than your attaks are. Far louder.

Plus, I do believe Borla builds the exhaust to go on a stock car, where it will keep within most legal limits. I believe some suburbs might be able to bend the rules some with that.

Honestly if you are not going WOT at midnight through a neighborhood or anything like that, most people probably wouldn't care.

I don't live there anymore, but at my old house a few kids in civics with the tin can mufflers would blow up the street at 2-3 in the morning. That is when most people get mad at people with loud exhausts.

ATAK's are not that bad in a axle back forum.

Add a o/r mid pipe and they Ridiculously loud!

I'm talking blowing you ear drums out

what about the ATAK catbacks? I've been wrestling between the S type and the ATAK catback for quite a while now, and I can't seem to make up my mind. I want it loud, but tone tops my list of priorities. It's gotta sound old school muscle. Deep, throaty, burbling.

Here's atak on mine. Although this is a catback it may sound a bit diffrent on axle back. But I'm unsure and this is paired with lts and off road x pipe

I've heard it's throaty because that's exactly what I'm looking for in sound. I figured I can always make them quieter if they are too loud but I can't make then louder if they're too quiet.

Well, I can say this, the Borlas don't stay deep and throaty forever. I actually more recently and continuing on, have come to start to dislike my borlas. Listening to videos of what they sounded like when I got them in december and then listening to them now, they have come to get a raspyish sound after what I can only guess is break in. It really hit me the other day when I heard mine next too a friends 2013 with flowmasters and O/R H. Mine sounded so raspy in comparison.

might be just my bad luck too, I dunno. Their million mile warranty doesn't cover sound changes. So...

I have been looking at getting Corsa extreme myself. Listening too videos of the two, the corsa is extremely deep and throaty and makes the borla s-types sound raspy.

all this said, I cannot speak for the attaks as I haven't heard them in person and cannot give any real input on them.

Some will say the opposite because you can also do a midpipe if you feel your catback didn't make it loud enough.

Yeah I'm pretty amped to hear them. I just think these things don't sound enough like a muscle car when running them stock.

not that I'll be much help with the mufflers, but I see your local to me, do you ever make it up to PRP?

I'm there pretty much every race day, if you haven't been up there yet, you should stop by.

Sweet I'll definitely have to check it out. Weekends are rough because I DJ but will make it a point to stop out on one of my off nights. Tonight is my first Saturday off in months.

---------- Post added at 12:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:32 AM ----------

Ok so I just looked at my order and it says that are shipping a 2013 mustang. Is the exhaust the same I'm the 12 and 13?

Not sure but you better call them
2012 exhausts usually stick out more out of the bumper when installed on a 2013
