Passenger airbag light

My passenger air bag off light comes on when there is a person in the passengers seat and goes off when the seat is empty. So according to the light airbag off with person in seat and on when seat is empty. Anyone else have this or just need to take it to the dealer?

Take it in.

It should only say that if something small, like a small child is in that seat. It's a safety thing cause children should be in a car seat in the back.

Lol everytime I buy an 18 pack of beer and leave it there it says that.

My beer doesn't need an airbag!

Nope- that's normal. If the person sitting in it is under 100 pounds, the light should come on. I've seen it where my daughter (8) can sit up front and the light not be on. If the passenger is under 50 pounds, the light souls not even come on, but the airbag should not deploy.

Like others have said, if the person sitting in the seat is super light, that's normal. If they're an adult however, I would take it in, that's not safe.
