26" for both- and I am assuming your asking about a race type compound tire - ie- drag radial - 28's look better but the car needs just a lil more gearing and the 26 would help it trap at a lil higher rpm. Until you throw a converter in it tire patch lay out wont come into concerns- until then run 26's or no taller than stock .
Free advice and take it for what it is worth - skip the cobra jet set up until you know for sure that your not going to go forced induction
your asking about a traction tire so I assume you not one of these Mexican street racers that run from 50-150 and you actually go to the track so the higher rpm intake wont really help you out of the hole until you move your stall speed up.
And if your not going fi then step up to a new converter
Get a circle d torgue converter 3c or higher stall ( I run a 5c)
with either a 26 or a 28 drag radial you wont be able to spin the tires even if you tried at the track with a stock converter in the car. and that is with totally stock suspension.
expect 1.85-1.88 60 foots on a 26" dr with your current mods and low 1.6's -high 1.5 with a converter and 11.40-11.50's et's in good air which you have in MD.
then if your still staying na then swap your rear gears to 3.31's and make the switch to cobra jet
Unless you really like the big and lil look you may want to consider getting a extra set of stock wheels or matching wheels to your set up that your running now and install a set of mt dr on there. I just went a 1.61 on my lil 18" 245's dr and that is with only 6 launch attempts. still getting that figured out from my 275 dr's . I am getting ready to have my stock wheels widen to 10" in the rear to put a LARGER 18" dr on the back . My car is not a dd so I run on dr's all the time and car never sees foul weather.
I've run a 325/50/15" MT drag radial with my stock GT.. Really a big tire. Kinda kills some bottom end but fits nicely in the wheel well and looks awesome.
Skip the cobra jet and buy a converter. You will not be disappointed. The car is going to be flying regardless but if this is mainly a street car the converter will be a better investment.
I had a 28" with 3.15s pre and post converter
The car was no slouch either way
Go with a 28" the difference will be negligible on and off the track: the only thing that will be noticeable is how ugly the car looks with a 26".
good to see the advice about the converter, looks like a 4C in my future!!!
