Damn, makes me think I should've spent the extra for the GT lol. I really hope the aftermarket starts open up for the sixers.

Well truth be told, the HP rating from the super charger at the wheels is FAR greater than the 5.0. Its something like 427 at the wheels I believe vs the 5.0 360 or something along those lines.

yea if you do the math for a 15% tranny lose, at 427 to the wheels, its roughly 500hp crank (vs the 5.0's 412hp)
so the procharged 3.7 actually makes quite a bit more power up top compared to a stock 5.0, but its still missing that low end torque

Its also what 7k to do that so you are now at the same cost of a 5.0 but not as stable. This is gonna be a huge factor for me come next year, if im gonna go F/I or use that money as a down pmt for a 5.0 and trade in the sixxer.

Where do people come up with these assumptions?

How about we look at the other side of the extreme with a turbo:

+ Better MPG
+ Faster (top-end)
+ Unique
+ Sleeper
+ Stylish front-end
+ Less than 7K

I personally would want to go turbo before a 5.0. Even if the torque is disappointing, its still with 30 ft-lbs of the 5.0 and the horsepower is more than 70 over the 5.0.

I like turbo motors, so I would love to see a turbo setup on one of these bad boys. I can't imagine that it would be too difficult, just $.

Assumption, how you figure? ANY F/I takes away some reliability of a motor, esp for a DD. all of what you listed are +s no doubt but to have a fully stock car pushing near the same amount is alot more apealling. ESP considering with 2-3k the 5.0 can be modded to be faster. Just saying.

I'm not so sure about that. I think it depends on how hard you are pushing the PSI into the cylinders which degrades the dependability of the engine. There are engines capable of running 6-8PSI no problem for 100K+ miles (stock & not stock). Its when you get greedy and up the amount of air you are injecting into the cylinders that things begin to break down or degrade.

Yes the 3.7's are new and we don't know their limitations yet, but they are solid-built platforms, and its only a matter of time before Ford comes out with their eco-boost applications on our engines. By that logic, would you not want to buy a stock 'eco-boost' engine because it has FI, and obviously FI makes it less reliable, right?
