That number would easily be accomplished with the Roadrunner block from the Boss 302 which is already within Dyno error of 450 HP. If Direct Injection is true, I would expect more than 450 HP out of the base Coyote and a lot more from a Road Runner based one. I'd love for all the new 5.0's to be Boss 302 motors worked over for Direct Injection! Hello Torque, HP, and fuel economy in one package!

I'm expecting the 5.0 engine will be the same as the current Gt except for the addition of direct injection. Although a direct injected version of the BOSS would be nice!

im guessing if direct injected the coyote around 460hp and with the boss engine 485-490hp both with a 12-12.5:1 compression ratio and 18:1 AFR on the highway to kick out 30+hwy mpg especially if the new foundation would include some weight loss. I believe with an aggressive factory tune with the roadrunner DI could break the 500 mark but I know that would not happen from the factory.

With a simple tune and intake our boss302r made 442 rwhp on the dyno. Im sure its gonna be alot more than that. Alot of tbe bossr motors make around that at the wheels after a tune from all the dyno runs ive seen at mid ohio
