he shouldnt blow it with 400. Are you talking 400 to the wheels or to the crank?

either way he shouldnt blow it. the 4.0's have been proved to hold up to at least 500rwhp/tq on the stock bottom end. some have went even higher than that. i think the crank would fail first... the rods are forged from the factory

nitrous is perfectly safe if you have it installed properly and tuned.

haha Being Mr. Negative here just a little I think. lol Lots of people do lots of different things, be it nos or boost, or both. Im sure that most people arent going to intentionally do in wrong.

Instead of "Have fun blowin your engine" or whatever you said before, a simple, "Make sure you dont skip anything" or "dont be cheap, do it right" would probably be way more helpful.

Just a though. dont flip out and what kind of rims do you have? lol

No im not negative.. what im trying to get at is... The more you do things to your engine the more your gonna have to keep it tuned.... What i was trying to get at if this is your daily drive why take the chance.. go buy yourself a old car or mustang or whatever you want then just spend the money doing a bunch of engine stuff.. so that away key word if it does blow up then you still have something to get you to work or anywere you are going you no what i mean.

What do you mean "keep it tuned"? You finish with whatever you do be it nitrous, turbo, supercharger, n/a, get it dyno tuned one time, and drive it until you want more.

i like the idea of just getting a crate 302. 3500 will get you more than halfway there if you put it in yourself. you probably won't get 400hp with it being a $3.5k crate, but you'll feel better about yourself and it won't be too expensive to add that extra power.

honestly, just trade in your car and put that 3500 as a down payment. i got an 09 GT a couple days ago. after rebates and the equity on my trade-in (07 V6), i got the GT for 19K.

but if you want to be unique, keep your six and spend thousands of dollars trying to reach 400hp. i've been in that spot before and i've come around and learned my lessons.

no you are never finished i strongly dissagree with you.. i dont mean it by anything but when you mess with engines and do stuff to it.. super charger and other stuff u have to check it.. and you sometimes see problems with it... ask any true gear head like me... that you star messing with enternal parts on your engine of anything to effect its proformance. you gonna start seeing problems maybe not big ones but they will be there.... wich is why i said dont mess with your daily drive to much cause if it breaks do to you screwing around with it.. then you have no car to use and ur gonna be stuck... wich is why i said if anything get your self an old car like a 1960 mustang and put most of your money into it.... so if that breaks you still have you rnice new mustang with no problems....if you check my specs on my car i have done alot of internal things but at the same time i no how to fix it if something goe wrong cause ive been building hot rods since i was 8 years old... not trying to brag.

i'm not trying to be a dick but... mustangs came out in 64 and i think u r misinforming people. once you tune something its good 2 go. and if you do internal engine work u cant make a mistake or else you'll definitely know it and ur engine would have its rods laying in the oil pan. if you just do it right once and tune it right once ur good 2 go...

well im not rying to be and dick but yea evidently dont no jack about engines dog... whats with you ppl saying you only need to tune it once... you guys are all wrong sorry but you are.. you most of the ppl on her think they are gear heads cause they done things to your mustangs..... but you dont actually no what you are doing seeing you have to go get it done professionally... and you guys think that you can talk engine parts which is great and helpfull to ppl.... but still most of you dont no anything about his kind of stuff and i no what im talking about.. my family has owned a custom hot rod and built hundreds of them. and they would tell you the same thing im telling you u start messing with your engine its starts having problems.. thats that okey and thats the price you pay when you start doing it.. iinstead of arguing with me why dont you go and ask other gear head sand ppl that no what they are doing.. talk to the ppl that have done things to there engines they will tell you that you dont see problems right away but you will.. and they will tell you that they are always tunning there engine...

im guessing by the word use of "dog" your probably a 16 year old kid thinking he knows everything there is out there about cars and engines, adding forced induction, heads, cams, whatever the case your going to want to get a tune, however any performance shop you go to will tell you that you can dyno tune all the way along but you might as well just get a basic tune and wait till all your mods are done on the car/engine and then get your dyno tune, you can tune and tweak after that for the little things that suit your needs but you have for the most part 1 tune after getting all your parts on (a professional tune that meets your goals and needs)

I see in your profile your running cams and a supercharger....
I'm curious, which cams and what blower are you running?
