Well I have a V6 08 and recently put on the x-charger which is one of the safest way to go if its a daily driver and there coming out with the intercooler for it now. After the intercooler is finished and I put it on, I will be running about 350-360rwhp which is not bad at all.

if you want 400 get a turbo and boost it and fuel upgrades, engine shouldnt have a problem handling it, as fas as fastrackboy goes who is we? your dads shop or what? im not intrested in going back and forth with a 16-17 year old kid

Whoo, did I miss this thread.
Alright first you IDIOT you can't spell for shit, but since this AINT spelling we shall move on.

Now moving on, first you may want to check MY post before you talk about being a "gear head" I've built a few engines myself with MY own two hands, not my dad's shop, me.. so yeah I guess you could consider me a "real gear head". Second without some freak accident if you put a motor together correctly it will stay together.

My perfect example of this is _J_'s car, built 4.3L stroker kit (forged pistons rods, new oil pump, good quality parts through the car) He has been running that car 2 years at 600hp, its a DD he beats the piss out of it and guess what he does to it? Puts in gas, and oil. He had it re-tuned for more boost but other than that that is it. Same with a shit ton of n/a LS1 owners, 4v owners, 5.4 swapped guys, the 1000hp tt/sc GT1000 that came to my car club a few weeks ago.

If you build something the RIGHT way and don't skimp out on parts for some piss poor quality shit 9/10 times you don't have problems. Now if you get a freak oil pump that goes on you at 6k then of course you're going to have problems but again 9/10 times you're good for a long time as long as you do regular maintenance.

Gear head, boy please you need to get your head out of fast and furious because you're still a buster.

can you explain this to me?

you pay $19k and youre at 300hp, up 90 from your v6's 210.

so how is it cheaper to get a v8 if it costs $19k to gain 90hp, but with $19k you could easily build and turbocharge a v6 and make way more hp than a 2009 GT, and have some money left over for visuals?

i can see easier, but by no means is it cheaper if you already have a v6.

holy shit, just bustin some balls here. relax. and on a side note, a v8 does not cost $19k, that's how much a car costs. a v8 costs anywhere from ~$2k to well over $10k.

ok, well if youre going to keep the same car and swap a different engine in it, it would be a lot easier and about the same if not still cheaper to just keep the v6.

if he asked something around the lines of
"build the 6 or get an 8?"
your answer would have been fine, but your answers didnt help at all and were telling him to waste his money

i know, just bustin balls as i said. around the time i posted that, i had just traded in my 6 so my head was kind of swollen at that point. swellings gone down now.

and for a more constructive response to OP's question, i would personally go with centri blower or a turbo setup. there's no cheap way to do this, so going the simplest way is probably best.

I dont know. I kind of agree with fastbackboy. The more you fuck around with an engine the more problems you are going to see. Like he said they might not be big problems but they will definately be there. I have heard this time and time again from my father and just people I know that do this for a living man. Sure, I'm sure your car and maybe a couple of your buddies cars run fine, and thats good, but I have seen this situation end badly lots of times. It doesnt really matter though. Everyone will do what they want to do. I know eventually I could fuck up my car, but I want the thrill of going faster quicker and thats all that matters. We all do this knowing the risk.
