Rookie to tuner! Help

Ok I just bought a SCT livewire tuner for my 2006 mustang V6. The guy I bought it from showed me how to use it but I am not sure of the more detailed stuff. Below are the mods to my mustang.

V6 4.0L
40,000 miles
20" wheels/tires
4:10 ford racing gears
Cold Air intake
Dual Exhaust (2.5" pipe replacing stock 2.25" pipe from manifolds to rear)
dual flowmaster delta 40 series mufflers

The guy I bought the tuner from said that since I had the cold air intake and dual exhaust on a V6 I might be safe to advance the timing a little. HOwever I have not done anything like this.

what are the best settings to put on my car to most power while keeping the engine safe.

Thanks everyone, i am way excited to use it!!!!

umm honestly bro. if you gotta ask questins its best not to do that on your own. messing with stuff like that if you dont know what your doing can severely damage your engine.

that is correct do not know alot about it, that is why I am asking you guys with more experience. It is not like I have to code the file my self. I will just push the buttons to what people tell me are the safe limits for my engine.

Anyone else Running tunes on V6 4.0L? what tunes work great for you guys?
so far I am just going to add the 91 octane tune and retune the gear ratio and airbox.

any more advise would be great,

I'm just going to say...Most of the guys on here arn't experienced enough either so your probably not going to get a great answer.

I'll tell you this...DONT mess with the timing or WOT a/f ratio unless you know 100% what your doing and you also have a wideband. If you dont have both (knowledge and wideband) dont even think about messing with that stuff.

Normally i would say pm trick tuners like Big daddy said, but joe (trick tuners) is on vacation to the end of july

There is a lot more to being a tuner than that. Don't mess with it. Plain and simple. Go to a dyno, and get a tune, or buy a canned tune from a tuner. Don't just try to figure it out yourself, or ask us. Safi is right. We don't know a lot about it. Do this the right way, and pay someone to do it. There is a whole lot involved in tuning. Don't fuck up your car.
