shift kit is a much more reliable, safer method. When you increase shift pressure, you up the line pressure, and this is just forcing the tranny fluid through the same path at a much higher pressure and puts stress on everything. A shift kit changes the path of the fluid, allowing for faster fluid transfer, and a much faster shift. When i would race, i would manual 1-2-3 about 250 rpm before rev, this shifts alot faster than leaving it in d, and letting the car do it because it takes it all the way to the last point before the limiter. I just got my shift kit in, it chirps into 2nd, and into 3rd. Plus a shift kit is under 100 bucks.
