F/I options?

i haven't really seen anybody post on all the different F/I systems out there for our engines. so i figured i'd get one started.

I've been thinking about a s/c alot lately, but theres not alot out there (roots/twinscrew wise) for a 4.0. does anyone have any experience with F/I on these engines? i've got the cash, and I'd prefer a roots/twinscrew setup, but i'm open to turbos also if you can convince me otherwise. and what numbers would i be looking at?

I am just going to speak for what i have.I predict i can make 350 to the wheels tuned with an intercooled roots supercharger and minor add-ons.That suits me just fine. Not a track junky, but would like to be 12's capable is about all in the end.

If you want better numbers maybe tom morana can set you up a nice roots supercharger, but no one i know has had work done by him yet.Otherwise, talk to turbo fans, lol.

p.s-Just to clarify,i have the s/c,but no intercooler yet as it's not out yet.

roots and 350rwhp would need full bolt ons and probably more then 10psi or 10psi

I agree need more boost, but that becomes possible with intercooler.I have seen a few making 300ish tuned at the wheels already at 10psi and hardly a bolt on,well, one that would actually increase numbers.I don't think expecting 50hp out of an intercooler is too out of reason. The main limitation may be going to a small enough pulley that won't slip or maximizing the screw.

Oh,and there are other ways to get there.Ron is running a stall converter and some other goodies with a 75 shot non-intercooled 10 psi.He IS a track junky tho,and has alot of experience.I think he's gotta make more runs to get dialed in but pulling 12.3's.

All i am saying is roots is not a bad way to go,depending what you want.In fact,i know happy campers with vortechs and prochargers as well.KNOW WHAT YOU WANT and any of them could suit you.

I have seen the powerhouse turbo system get our cars to around 400hp on minimal boost, but once you get to that horsepower you need to start buliding your motor so that won't go out.
