i am having a hard time remembering what the top mount super charger for the s197's is called... but that is most likely the kit you will want to get ...
or ... this is an amazing idea... or you could jack a 4 lobe supercharger off of a ZR1 and custom fit it to your car...

i know its a roots style... and over all, since there are different designs to the rotors, they are refered to as positive displacement superchargers... but a company put out a unit for the V6 and i don't know what its called

well your the one that wants the positive displacment kit...
its the only bolt on one for the s197 so far... you can get a centri supercharger or turbo if you want ... and its just simple 6 gauge or 10 gauge wire or something like that... the kit might have it but no promises

the X-Charger is the only positive displacement supercharger available for the 05+ v6 stangs. with that s/c you will have full boost by 3000rpm if not less than that so it will be good power on tap for daily driving. you will see more hp our of a centrifugal s/c if you want to go that route. a turbo would give you more power above all. the choice is yours

i believe thats why they say positive displacement is better for low end cause its max boost at a lower rpm.. all mustangs ive driven reach peak power before they reach the redline. they kinda die out towards redline. well the v6s ive driven i bet its different for v8

a positive displacement supercharger drops up at the top end ... usually around 13 psi @ 4000 and only 10.5 psi @ 6000 for a stock Eaton. of course thats for a cobra...
just saying

The wiring for the x-charger is provided. It's a well thought out, well made kit with a 44 page manual(in color). There's something to be said for the fact that at last count 63 of these are running about the country somewhere,lol-

if you wanted to, yes, it would take a lot of fabrication, a block off plate to redirect the boost as well as a new induction plate, it would be one unit, you just have to split the boost, then from there you might have to cut a whole in your hood, might have some linkage issues, you would have to pipe the system... not to much work ... just a lot of custom fabrication, oh yea forgot the shout brace needs to be rebuilt... uhh... maybe a longer belt...
who knows for sure... ask coastie for pictures of the M90 with the intercooler set up, it will give you ideas on how it works exactly

All i know about the intercooler is that it is being worked on in 2 places. One will prolly fit under the hood and one won't.Some initial testing has been done a bit ago and good hope for this summer maybe but just take it as pure speculation.
And yes,it can be added later. You could cool also with meth,meth/water using a snow kit or a kit like doug @ bamachips sells.I have chosen to be patient, lol. |
