Supercharger question

well i have an 06 v6 and ive looked into a supercharger for it but i was thinking about picking up a v8 and putting a supercharger on it. due to that fact that im not 25 my insurance would probably be really high on a v8. does anyone have dyno charts for the v6 and v8 mustang hp gains?. Also is there 100% bolt on kit that includes everything? i dont need alot of hp just some added power to try and keep up with WRX and STis

keep up with WRXs and STis?? well which is it... don't set your goals to high

there is a positive displacement kit that comes with everything will put you at about 325 at the rear wheels if i remember correct, then with supporting mods you can chase down anything that shares the same amount of power at the wheels

lol sorry i know there is a big difference in HP between WRX and the STi. stock STi ive read puts out 300hp I am a fan of turbo but i dont believe a modern muscle car and a turbo meshes well. thats just my opinion. i believe ive been seeing the number 435hp floating around for the v8.

turbo's would be more efficient and believe me our v6's are far from a modern muscle car
not using a turbo just because you think its ricey is just being stupid IMO
thier more efficient more power and sound better, unless maybe a twin screw (which i still think a turbo spooling up sounds cooler) and trust me no one will think your ricey once you hand them their ass with your car turbo or not

you can always put a v8 engine in your car instead of buying a gt

and with forged internals and a stronger transmission im pretty sure you can hit 450

the thing is in our cars i think the connecting rods and pistons are stronger then the gt's motors which means that it wouldn't be as much forged internals to make the same power and it would be way cheaper then buying a new motor and force inducting it and then forging its internals

v6 is the wifes car and i want one for myself. she doesnt allow me to turn traction control off but i do drive in triple digits on our deserted freeway. believe me i love the sound of a turbo spooling as much as the next guy but i just thought a supercharger kit would be easier to put on. i know turbos make more power and are more efficient also. so is there a direct bolt on kit for turbos then?

there are both hard and easy at the same time... its just different stuff that your doing... if you do a turbo you have to do certain things that you don't with a s/c and vise versa...

my friends all have hondas and ive done turbo setups anything from a honda to a chevy s10. i just dont want to sit there and have to fabricate everything by hand. i just want to have to make a few holes for oil lines and bolt the rest on.

i got bored at work today and took Fast Mustangs and Fords mag or whatever its called and i read the article on what supercharger to use.

they have some really good points

although turbos do put out the most power in HP per PSI you have to mod alot of things to get them in like exhaust and your cat. the turbo kits arent emission friendly.

from what i gathered i could get a roots charger which would mainly give me instant boost in the low end instead of waiting for it to spool up and use power then make power.

so im not going to go with supercharger and do an Air to air intercooled setup. now i just have to figure out whether ill pick up another v6 or if ill pick up a v8
