I think the rims weigh around 24 lbs.I have the same ones, but they are'nt worth upgrading with the rim width/tire ratio(safely, that is).

The white car pictured has the base model V6 wheels. They are 215/65/16's.
The weight of the tire + rim = 42lbs. |

My original 16x7 V6 wheel-tire combo weighed 43 pounds on my bathroom scale.
If I remember correctly, the GT takeoff Bullitt rims and Pirelli tires weighed 53 pounds. Yesterday I changed sets of wheels/tires, and weighed them on the same bathroom scale: Ford SVT "Fanblades" 18x8.5 with Bridgestone RE-01R 245-45 tire = 57 pounds. Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition 19x9 with Michelin Pilot Sport SP2 275-35 tire = 60 pounds. Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition 19x10 with Michelin Pilot Sport SP2 275-35 tire = 61 pounds. The Saleens are the ones I've been running most lately. Experience at the eighth-mile drags tells me the heavier wheels and tires make a significant difference in acceleration performance. Heavier are worth at least a tenth increase in ET per ten pounds added. On the other hand, the original tires didn't grab real good, and weren't much good as drag tires. The Pirellis gripped a bit better, but still didn't work good at the strip. A careful comparison of the Fanblade/RE-01Rs and the PJ/Michelin showed the Fanblades a little faster. Tomorrow I will try them again, and see how they compare to the more recent Michelin runs. The Michelins, by the way, may be one of the few street tires that benefits from a classic "burnout" warmup. It seemed to me they hooked up a little better after trying that. One wheel only; no T-Lok yet. The scale reads whole pounds, so if an actual weight is within a pound of what the display says, the actual weight might be anywhere from 0.9 pounds heavier to 0.9 pounds lighter.
