made 700$ selling books, now i have a shopping list! advice pleaseyes this is another one of those list threads sorry. I am thinking 1)cai and tune 2)underdrive pullies 3)lowering springs 4)gears will 1700 be enough to cover all of these things? if not, what should i do away with, and are there any revisions i should make to this list?

ud's 189.99 springs really depends on which ones but about 220 lets say gears. 200 give or take so on the deep end 1200 in parts but should be little less, and labor for the gears assuming you can do the rest yourself is about 400. so you should have some change left over. As for anything else, plan on saving up for some dampers cuase the springs are going to wear them out quick. |

300 for springs is way to much, c/c plates are not a must, 500 for gears with install is a great deal if you can find it, and JLT stands for "Just Lost Too", remember where you heard it.

ya...actually i went by some shops and none of them had used gts. including the ford dealership. they have some new gets, but the grey one with hood scoop and black top would still be 22K with the trade in.
there was a sweet orange one i like i dont know how much it costs

i have nothing at all so far.^^
and i am wondering what i should get first. dont say exhaust because if i get it, i will get it later. and ya i know the first mod for everyone is cai/tune, but i want something else, like udp's or something. how much hp will the udp's free up/give me? and will they give me better mpgs?

exhaust will give u just as much hp if not more, and better mpg then under drive pullies, udp are a complete waste IMO, get mid pipe, axle back, gears, and tune,cai----it will feel and sound like a different car

I disagree, I have the ASP underdrive pulley and it makes a difference. I ran 14.9 wed night with no boost, (blew a coupler off on the previous 12.40 run) All my car has is the underdrive pulley and exhaust and obviously the turbo has a different air filter. I think thats pretty good considering it is not tuned for n/a and still has 3.31 gears but more weight with the turbo and intercooler up front.
I think the best bang for the buck is the vmp combo with tune, cai, and gt muffler. I have not seen anything cheaper, otherwhise see if someone in your area who went cat back on a gt will just give you there gt muffler, hell check the muffler shops regularly, they just throw the stuff they take off away, might get lucky. That and run the c&L intake with a sct tuner. you can cut one coil off the factory springs (not with torch) for free and lower the car 1 inch without issue and wont need caster cambers (just an alignment), any more than that just buy lowering springs. As said Gears will make the biggest difference of anything but a good tune. Especially if your an automatic. I would go 4.10 but most go 3.73. My bro lives in richmond (lakeside) and is an excellent mechanic. He could probably set up your gears for much less than the regular shops would charge. He could do any work you need and is the best I know, even better than me ha ha. P.M. if interested

one thing to add
If your going to spend 200 on gears and 300-400 for install and another 200 for a t loc you are better off going with a GT take off 8.8 rear I got mine for about 500 with the 3.31 gear but cost 240 to ship it. Anyway it bolts right in, comes with stronger axles and bigger carrier and limited slip. It can be had with 3.31/3.55/3.73 gears allready installed. If you go power adder or run Drag radials at the strip you will break the 7.5 eventually, probably sooner than later so spend the same amount and get something stronger. If you are just bolt ons and not running slicks than a 7.5 will hold up fine and is 80lbs or so lighter than the 8.8. That is the main reason why the GT's are heavier. The engine with aluminum block is not much or any heavier than our v6.
