I'm lost are you going to buy the complete kit that brings all the parts or just the charger alone?

cognizant? what does that mean?

you will need a tune oh and i just saw ur a 07' i think you could run 5-8 psi w.o a problem you would just need to buy a tuner. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

my brain needs refreshing lol last time I was here was like a month ago and i log in just for 1 minutes haha

yeah, i'm getting the complete package. it comes with a bamachips tune, so thats not a prob. i'm also looking at a complete 8.8 rearend assembly (i plan on pushing the 4.0 well beyond 300hp). but, i heard someone mention they were blowing their stang and some other dude said something about a fuel pump and injectors and i was like ??? pretty much, what else am i going to need to take full advantage of the blower?

i just got a vortech and i know for the 99-04 youll need either an SVT Focus Fuel pump or GT40 fuel pump... and yes you will need injectors. again with the 99-04 i have 39# injectors.

a mod needs to move this to the 05+ 4.0L section and you will get all your questions answered

dude, nobody looks at the 4.0 section. its a supercharger, it works off the same principle as any other supercharger. there's like 3 people at max on the 4.0 section at anyone time, and very few of the few 05-08 owners that view that section have s/c's. i figure you guys are probably more knowledgable on the subject of s/c's.

u will need 39lbs injectors for a 350-400+ hp range. A bigger maf to match the injectors im thinking like the lightning MAf which is like 90mm? some1 correct me if im wrong. And i dont know which fuel pumps are out there for your model. I think you will need like something above 255lph or am i overkilling it? im talking for a 350-400++ h.p

a 255lph is supposed to hold like 400 h.p tho*

alright i was just saying man you dont need to get all defensive. they might not have a s/c but they might be able to help you a little better than we can cause we have older models. i can tell you what you need for a 99-04 but not 05+. do you get what im saying?

and 255 is good for 400hp to the wheels, not the crank. and can you use the 90MM on the new stangs? cause thats what i have as well haha

well of what i know a maf is like a general part just like injectors unless you need a adapter to make it work. IDK lol just ask sct for their mafs and call it done i know a 90mm will work
and if im wrong come down here to P.R and slap me with a 2 week old dead fish lol

a lot of parts are not interchangable with the 4.0s

id look at VMPtuning for after market MAF sensors as well as a fuel pump and fuel injectors.

for future reference when sites list rated to 400hp-500hp unless it says rwhp or whp then that part is good to w/e is listed 400-500hp at the crank

such as transmission are usually 90%+ rated at flywheel/crank hp

same with fuel pumps usually. they base it off what the engine takes and puts out

rwhp is a touchy thing. an auto, with big rims, stock driveshaft is going to be much different then a manual drive car with aluminum flywheel, driveshaft and smaller wheels.

but both cars might make the same crank power if anything an auto might make more because a flywheel is heavier then a flexplate

so hearing a part is rated to a certain whp doesnt mean much unless you have a very similar driveline.

its just an estimate.

Why not get your XCharger directly from ExplorerExpress.com?. They MAKE the kit. It comes complete with everything you need, including injectors, CAI, tune & SCT tuner. You don't need anything else. Excellent instructions. Excellent tech support. Excellent service.

I got mine installed. It took about 10 or 11 hours. You can have a look at the instuction manual on their website if you want to see what to expect during the installation.

The X-charger is great for our engines and won't put too much of a strain on our blocks, but I'm not sure if you'll see 400hp from this mod and a good tune. You may need a few other bolt ons to get closer to that goal. At least you'll be able to beat some GT's tho.
