EiBach PRO Kit, should I?
I called my Ford dealer and they said for the installation by Ford is $600 total.
I beleve this is just the springs. Lowers the car by 1 1/8 inches (Ford said). Someone said this will reduce by 1/4 times because of weight distribution. So will I be slower? I'll handle better I hope...right? After this I'll get new 17 or 18 inch rims and Nice Tires! Who makes the best tires for 130 MPH? I'm thinking AA traction/A temp. Btw my other car (in storage) is an very early 1971 (same as a 1970) Datsun 240Z with Dunlops AA traction/A temp/130 speed/HR tires. On that note that car has a great engine...the rest is falling a part ![]() Thanks! P.S. on stock gears (3.55 I think?) what is the top speed of a v6 Stang with the very best tires? |

what? buy the kit and do it yourself. It will be way cheaper. I have a brand new set for sale($170) plus go to auto zone and put a deposit down on a compressor ($80 but you get it all back) and then get some chamber bolts. ($25ish)

Ya, NEVER get something like done at a dealership. If you can't do it yourself, get a custom car shop to do it. They will charge around $100 would be my guess. It isn't a hard job at all.

Thanks!
Will it reduce by 1/4 times because of lack of weight distribution? |

+1 on doing it yourself! Go to a auto store, ask them what tools you'll need to do the job then ask if you can rent the tools.

No it wont help your 1/4 mile run.. in fact.. it will hurt the you in the 1/4 cuz of the stiffer springs there will be less weight transfer to the rear where the power is. You WILL however be able to carve a hell-of a corner with em though.
I done the installation of my springs myself. Its not that hard really. If you can change your own oil then you can do the springs. Yeah its a bit more complicated than changing oil but all it takes is some basic know how. I would say also dont even worry about a spring compressor too. You set the car high as you can on jack stands and let the A arms drop as far as they can and get ya a long screw driver and motivate it to come on out LOL. Its REALLY not as hard as it seems... I never done ANYTHING with suspesion before this... Just DIY!

I wouldnt waste the cash on the bolt things. Go ahead and spend a few extra bucks on the Maximum Motorsports CC plates. IMO they are well worth the price...more adjustability than most others and a lifetime warranty too. Since I got my MM CC plates I have had better tread life than I have ever had on ANY vehicle I have ever owned.
Just my .02 cents worth though! ** EDIT** Thought I would add also.... If you get the MM CC plates and later down the road you decide you want to go a bit lower. (like some folks do)... them plates will be good to go for you to drop it even farther.
