Nitto 555R tires

Got a set of 315/35r17 555R extreme drag radials on my car and LOVE them. The car wont even break loose now like it did with the old shitty tires. And yes I fit those on the stock 03 SVT rims and they look fine. Sure a 10.5 inch rim would be better, but lets face it, I just didnt have the money to get new rims. Either way, Im sper happy with these and highly reccomend them. Oh and the MGW is getting nice and broken in and feeling even better.

I idn't much care for my Nittos when I had them. Then again I was running 275's so I probably didn't have a big enough footprint to benefit me. I have BFG dr's and I love them.

they'll work fine on your 9" wheels. Nittos run more narrow than other brands. They do hook pretty good, I find that they hook better on the street than track, but I've gone a 1.60 60' on that same tire.

^ OK, how 'bout this: no comment

I think running 315's on a 9" wheel is a waste of a 315 and a poor fit.

I partially agree with you on that one. Fact of the matter is, I coudlnt justify buying 4 new rims when I had decent ones already, but at least now I can get the wider rims and I alrady have the tire to go onto them. Had I gotten the 275 tire I wouldnt have been able to put it on a 10.5 inch rim very well. The 315s fit a lot better than I thought they would.

They are a good tire. Much better than any traditional street tire, but probably at the bottom of the drag radial family. They really don't compare to the M/T's and what not.

And in my opinion a taller side wall on a drag radial is just as, if not more, important as the actual width. You're running a 315/35 right now on that rim. I wonder what the performance difference would be if you where running a 275/40?....

I like them. When I was running them I got 1.78-1.85 all day. For their longevity compared to BFG and MT they can't be beat. -Mark
