stupid, stupid, stupid question re: wheels

I'm 99% sure the answer is "no".

Will '06 V6 16" wheels clear the brakes on my '98 Cobra? Or fit at all for that matter?

I only ask 'cause I can get a set *rediculous* cheap, and I need a set of tires for a track day I might be going to this weekend.

Thanks, guys.

I don't think they will because of the caliper clearance. Didn't Snakes come with 13" brakes up front? In fact...now I remember...they won't. In the Ford parts catalog, it says that 17" wheels are the minimum for Snake brakes.

you are just talking about for the rears right?

they have different back spacing than the sn95. i think they will be close to the quad shock but should clear. if you are wanting to drag race a little more just find someone with a GT that wants to trade your rear brake setup. if you do that you can run a 15x10 with a 5.5 backspace.

Don't you want a larger wheel with a lower profile tire for less body roll?

i do both

i would suggest some other wheels, since they are only 17x8s and not having the correct backspacing. you can pick up some decent 17x9s off allot of sites and throw some track tires on them.

Absolutely. But this was 4 takeoff wheels with brand new tires for $100.

I actually really like the stock wheels, but decent track tires aren't streetworthy, and decent street tires that will survive track days will set me back a heck of a lot more than $100.
