mach down

well now that doc knows, i will post. after he left for basic i took car out for drive. had a little smoke coming out of the passenger side pcv. i decided to pull the motor and found something i never have seen of heard of. the motor had 7 spiral locks come out and now the block is trashed. my machinist has been doing motors longer than i have been alive and has never had a spiral failure. probe industries is now giving us the run around on the warranty on their shit ass product. i have been trying to be a nice guy but they have given me the run around for weeks. doc is back for a few days from basic and they are giving him the run around as well.

i went and got a teksid block for him and wanted to have the car running for him for when he got back. probe is screwing around and dont give a damn about backing their product. for certain reasons, we have to get the car back up and running asap, so the stock pistons may have to go back in for a while.

Sounds like you need to quit being a nice guy and give them a probing of your own.

this actually isnt the first time ive heard about probe not backing their products... i had a buddy that had his pushrod built by them only to have it rip apart cause the main caps were not torqued to spec so when he got on it on the track about a month later she literally ripped herself apart. they wouldnt cover it cause they said that it was cause off all the aftermarket parts that he had put on the top end. all in all after about a year of talking shit to each other he decided to tell them that he was going to lawyer up and get a mechanic from ford to back him up from his inspection and they gave him a built long block that he later sold to get a CHP block.

run a compression test first to see if there is any deviation. if possible, run a bore scope down and see if you can see any damage. i looked down the spark plug hole and seen something that made me think and i went ahead and tore it back out of the car.

I actually know where a set of Mahle Pistons for his car are laying around. I'll call my buddy and see if he plans on using them soon. If not then I'll try and get them cheap for you guys. I'll call him tomorrow and check to make sure.
