car is missing or skipping or something.

I have a 03 cobra. As I was driving home last night I was passing somebody and as I got on it, I noticed it missing. I was like wtf, there's no check engine light on and it runs fine through all gears until WOT then it skips. Seems like it doesn't do it until the car is warmed up. I think I might need a new clutch? Any ideas

Not sure if its the same thing that I had a long time ago but if it feels like it hesitates a little your injectors might be a little dirty. I ran some fuel injector cleaner through it and it fixed the problem right up. I put the cleaner in and filled up the tank, by the time the tank was at 1/4 it felt pretty good. I used lucas fuel system cleaner. I hope this works, if not the cleaner is pretty cheap so no worries on wasting money and if it works than you just fixed your car for like $12. =)

While you're at it, check your spark plugs.

Could be any number of things causing this. Although, a misfire *should* light up your SES. Not always, but always worth a shot. Check for moisture under the covers.

I checked under the spark plugs no moisture found. How do you pull the spark plugs? I'm really leaning toward my clutch slipping. It olny does it at WOT.

Mine did the same thing at WOT and I changed the plugs and nothing, changed my fuel filter and nothing. Ran the fuel system cleaner and it worked. Its the fastest thing to try and not expensive at all. If that dont work, do what fluffythe rhino said and check the plugs. That or check the plugs then if the plugs are ok run the cleaner.

You don't HAVE to pull the plugs to check for moisture. Pull the covers off. If there's moisture or at least a lot of obvious coloration (brown/yellow) then you a plug could have backed out. It'll cause misfires. It can happen at low RPMs or WOT. Mine was doing this, and it got progressively worse. It got to the point that I knew it was a misfire, and that's when I pulled the plugs, and found that one of them had backed out. New plugs took care of the problem.

To pull the plugs, you'll need a racheting wrench and long extension. However, it would be quicker to run the fuel system cleaner, and easier to do. Try that first, and if it doesn't work, try the plugs.

When was the last time the plugs were changed?

Also, how many miles are on your car/clutch?

My car has 90,000 miles on it so it might need a spark plug change. Right now I have some lucas fuel injection cleaner running through right now. I've burnt a quater so far and it still does it. By the way what kind of plugs do you guys use, and there's no ses light on.

sounds like either you got stiffed with a little bit of shitty gas, or maybe your fuel filter is getting clogged at tad, or your fuel pumps might be spiking out do to the mods, its unusual but it happened to my friends 04 with very simular mods, and use some NGK copper plugs, do not use platinum plugs in your car.

so It dint do this when you got it right, just now, if so you can check the plugs, check if there really white while your at it

If you've never changed your plaugs, then do it. I don't remember what plugs I went with. All I know is they cost a lot, and they work like a champ. Usually, OEM is the best way to go.

well how many miles did it have when you got it and what kind of maintenance have you done in the meantime?
fuel filter and spark plugs are probably highest up given the mileage, should probably just do them regardless.
check for fault codes, the car can throw a fault code without tripping the light.
pull the vacuum line on the frps and smell for fuel, probably not it but it's a good idea to check and that dumb sensor causes all sorts of hell.
