we are pretty much the same. she covers the mortgage and keeps the rest of her paycheck to buy whatever she wants. i cover all the other bills.

but we do discuss the big purchases

oh yeah, of course. but the little stuff, like you said, we have our own disposable income for. If I were to buy say a Helion kit

before I buy it i would hint here and there that I would like, then want, then gonna get a kit for xxxx amount
