The 5.4 is going to have initial cost with it, so be in it for the long haul, I think if your ready for some time, making a really special 99 cobra, I say go for the 5.4 and build it to GT500 spec!!

Well honestly I don't know what block your looking at, the one I had them spec was good for like 1200rwhp and was around $4400, don't let the numbers like that fool you cause from what I hear I would rather build the motor from the ground up for what they charge and the parts they use

If your looking for 800rwhp then your going to be much better off with a 5.4 thats built with gt500 parts, a stock gt500 makes ~420rwhp a guy I know using the little Whipple 2.9 bolted it on his completely stock engine, stock cold air intake and all, and make an extra 180rwhp with a tune on 93, bolt headers, the cai, new injectors, a little more boost and timing, and your at 700rwhp easily, do it with the 3.4 and your at 750, but then you need a good rear end, a 9" would be the best bet, then make sure that you can swap everything over from the 5.4 into your car, make the blower fit, ect ect, the GT500 heads flow so good that the port isnt even worth anything until after 25lbs of boost on a big blower, the twin turbo guys are making 1400rwhp with just upgraded springs, so you dont even need the expensive ported heads in my opinion, or the cams unless your spinning over 6200rpm, which you don't even need a built block for that, so just something to chew on, hell with the stock blower ported and pullied guys are putting down 600rwhp, but you need a LOT of cooling, and all the other stuff to support it, build the whole car to support more than the horsepower you want before you ever get there, then you won't ever have to worry and you can beat the snot out of it

You are correct I went back to the website it was the 5.4l mod 1000 rated for 900hp. I must have seen both when on the website and got the price put with the wrong engine. My bad
