mach 1...0-60 and 1/4 mile times
Hey just curious how fast the Mach 1 is. Anybody know what the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are on stock mach 1's? Also, they are 305hp aren't they?

13.2 in the quarter with a 0-60 time of 5.6 is what i found with manual tranny. That quarter mile time seems fast though
and yes they have 305 hp Last edited by Breakout; February 5th, 2009 at 06:42 PM. |

It depends on where you read it, I found this.
2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (5 Speed) 4.7 13.2 (MT Feb '05) 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 (Auto) 5.6 13.88 (MT Apr '04) I think for 0-60 its from 4.7-5.6 and 1/4 mile times go from 13.1-13.9 all depends on where you live and how you drive. |

I would say 13.2 is on the high end of the spectrum. More like 13.4-13.6. Pretty fast though for a stock car.

13.2 probably with some sticky tires and a good launch and some weight reduction

If a driver at Motor Trend can get one to a 13.2 on a perfect day then there's no reason a real good driver can't make it to that on a not so perfect day... I read that story when they drove to the 13.2 in the Mach, that's when they were comparing it to a GTO.

I totally believe it, but that seems fast for a magazine. Typically, magazines are .2-.3 tenths of decent times.

If you want to see how fast a Mustang is stock, look what MM&FF got out of it. They can drive pretty damn good.

Weather does indeed play a large role in quarter mile times... someone on the Mach registry got into the 12's with nothing more than a K&N CAI.... he lives in Canada. Not a surprise with some nice crisp weather and low altitude.
There's also the freak factor. Some of these cars were a little more powerful than others from the factory. Don't know how or why, but the RWHP wasn't the same across the board on all the builds. I imagine it could be related to weather/geographical locations at various dynos. My car didn't run as well in Alabama, Mississippi, or Louisiana as it does in Nevada or New York (especially during winter in NY). Nice and punchy in the cold NY winter, sluggish lag in the south during summer months. |

It can be done with some good wide sticky tires.
Hell yeah they can. Back in 2003, they tested a brand new 03 cobra. All they did was remove the front sway bar(to promote weight transfer) and put drag radials on it. A professional driver operated the car on a really good day(weather) on a really good prepped track and they got a best that day of 12.3 ![]() ![]()

OP.....you need to give us more details...be specific....
Are you asking what they run with drag radials or regular street tires? |

I was just curious what the Mach 1's ran stock from the factory in comparison to the gt's and cobras. The 99 GT stock is 5.5, 14.1. Terminator cobras 4.5, 12.9. I was just wondering the specs on the Mach 1 and somebody gave me some answers. Thanks guys.

03/04 cobras can do much better than 12.9.
i think 13.2 is definitely doable with a stock mach...with a good track and a good driver... just as i think high 13's are doable with a stock edge gt
