Hooking Up a Kill Switch

I'm relocating the battery to the back of the car and want to know how to hook up a kill switch? Wouldn't the alternator still run after the car was turned off? That's what I'm wondering right now, how do I hook it up and have it shut the alternator off?

Thanks guys, been a while. Winter is a little slow for the car so doing stuff like this keeps me occupied.

What you have to do is disconnect the hot wire going from your dist box to the alt. Then run a separate wire from the alt back to the kill switch and hook it to the same post as the positive side of the battery is on. That way when the switch is flipped it kills the power going to the dist box AND the Alt. Now the next question is where are you going to mount your kill switch?

Thanks a lot!

I've made a bracket for that.
