5.4 4v build
Alright,
I am working with my mechanic friend on a build and was wondering what cams we would want to get for the set-up. I have heard through the grapevines that something like the 01 cobra intake cams and the navi exhaust cams would be a good set-up (or something along these lines). thoughts, ideas. Thanks, R |

May I suggest the gt supercar cams? Great cams, nice idle, pretty good for your setup and the price is not too bad. And I am gonna come see it when your done since I'm here a ft eustis right by you.

I happen to have a set of reground GT Supercar Cams. Basically they were just tweaked a little bit. I can the specs, but they offer a rougher idle. I met this guy a while back when I used to race motocross, he was making custom cams for 4 strokes before the aftermarket was. He made some cams for my YZ426F. He said that he could build up, and regrind cams.

if you looking for a cheap upgrade for the cams, the supercar cams are the way to go. you can spend a little bit more for a set of the hp292's as well.

alrighty. this is going to be a process as it really won't start until after i get the car paid of next year. I am just trying to figure out everything that i will need.
we are working on one for another customer of andy's, but he is using stock navi cams. I want mine to be that much better than his. ![]() another question, what are the navi motors limits. i have heard of a stock one holding almost 20 lbs of boost. are they forged from the factory or no? |

some of the navi's have a forged crank, but the rest is still weak. depending on how much $$$ you want to spen, i think i could do a nice shopping list for ya

I think that even though you're doing this on a budget. $900.00 for a set of Crower Stage 4 Cams is well worth it.

Also, look into having your intake massaged, or get a Sullivan Intake.

well it's not that it is going to be on a budget. I just don't want to spend a fortune.
![]() but it's going to be a 5.4L 4V, "custom" intake, intake cover, relocated alternator, atleast 1 stage of the spray. should be good times. |

a mild build would not show full potential of the stg 4 cams. the intake options are narrow for the swap, have to be wise about it. i am trying to get one together as well for a set up, but havent had time to get to it yet.

it's a "custom" intake with a 90mm inlet. the top of it is no higher than the valve covers. that's all i can as it is top secret at the moment. |

I'll also throw out there, heads heads heads! They can make our break you. Decide on what route your going (boost,spray,etc.) so if you work em over you can get em right. Because the navi heads can be ported out to a very "nice" size, right sweet. LOL
