Opinion on ebay turbo kit?

I want to turbo my 99cobra and would like to do the work myself. I do not have a lot of cash to drop on a kit that is expensive from the top retailers. I seen a kit on ebay for $1699. It had a few things that needed to be obtained before it was considered a complete kit. I am not looking to make huge numbers, just a little extra boost and the bragging rights of having a turbo cobra, not to mention that I did the work myself when chatting it up at the local spot. I am somewhat mechanically inclined. I also have a few friends that are mechanics. I guess what my main question is, is it worth it to get these extra parts in addition to the turbo kit for an self-install? Thank you for all feedback in advance.

Do you have a link? A lot of the kits out there use Chinese knock offs of Garrett turbos. I've seen complaints about these having issues with turbo oil seals, header fitment, and the headers not holding up very well. But without knowing anything about who's selling it, it will be hard for me to tell.
