Question

Question for the 4V crowd (03 Cobra)

Anyone running 4.10 gears in an 03 Cobra? I currently have 3.73's, would there be any benefits to upgrading to them? After all, I have to upgrade my irs to stage 5 half shafts and 31 spline diff, would be a good time to install if beneficial. Anyway, any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated. Tx.

The usual logic is 4.10s for N/A, 3.73s for boost.

Does it feel like you need more gear?

I run 4.10s..... Currently at the track I am bouncing off of redline at 125 mph with a 26" tire. It will be getting some 28s this year.

I drove C MY 4D's pullied 03 with 4.10's for a couple of days and it was great. I couldn't imagine a different gear being better. It had a TON of pull and with the 6spd it was good on the highway.

You sir are correct. You'll notice a difference in higher end w/ your Termi compared to your GT Cricket

I'd like to do 4.10s in my 03 Cobra, but the wheel spin now is crazy. When I get a beater and can run drag radial full time I'll throw some in.

I appreciate the input guys, I actually might go with them. On the other hand, I am thinking of a TT set-up and wonder how the gears would affect that set-up. I had 4.10's in a previous gt and loved the acceleration with an auto (although I did blow three rear tires in a row). How much different is it with the t-56? I would like to experience 4.10's in a 03 before I buy and install them.

4.10s would be better in a turbo/centri setup than a PD blower. You'll smoke the tires off the line with your current blower.

I haven't been able to go up to the track, primarily due to work. I am planning a trip up to dinwiddie in may for either t and t or friday night street wars.
You guys that have trouble with wheel spin what kind of tires are you using? I got rid of the pos goodyears because I had lots of traction issues. The ones I have now are pretty good and no problems at wot. unless it's a little wet. Thanks for the input Machboy.

Well you also need to remember tire size will effect them also. A taller tire will help alot in the 60 foot. That is why I stuck with the 4.10 instead of going back to a 3.73 or 3.55.

Now that most of my suspension is done, I don't really have a wheel spin issue with my Nitto Drag radials. I can't wait to try out my ET Streets.

I'm just running regular street tires on mine. 295/30/19s Continentals are what I have on mine. The Sumitomo 315/35/17s weren't any better under wot either though. I've read too many horror stories of running drag radials in the rain. I'll just wait until I have a beater so slap a set of drag radials on mine.

Drag radials aren't bad in the rain. It's the drivers that have an issue. You just have to drive like you have some sense. Hell the time it snowed here this year I drove to work on Bald Mickey Thompson drag radials without an issue.
