Suspension Upgrade
So I love driving the back roads and mountain roads in my 98 Cobra, but the stock suspension just doesn't do it for me. Yall got any input on upgrades/kits I should look into?

level 5 half shafts and poly bushings would be a great start. Welcome to the forums.
here is a great site to order from. Ford Mustang Suspension at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

I would start with a good set of springs, I am a fan of H&R Super Sport Springs.
but 1st, lets establish what your goals are, and how much you want to spend, because friend, the sky is the limit. My ideal set up would be Racecraft or Team Z K member, Maximum Motorsports Coilovers up front, and in back Bigger sway bars, camber/caster plates, full length subframe connectors, rear axle brace, strut tower brace front and rear, and some wider more aggressive tires and wheels.

Griggs racing man..... $13,500 if you want to hold over 1.5g in the skidpad and out handle ANY car Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, Audi, etc has ever made.
If you instead want to be a bit closer to what most of us can afford, go with any setup that removes the rear upper control arms. Like panhard/torque arm setup or Watts link if you're a bit more serious. A new SLA front end setup is in order if you are also serious which both Agent47 and griggs sells. Check out.... if not going for complete griggs package this watts link blows all the others away. Doesnt mount to diff like all others which causes leaks over time and problems with single shear bolts snapping causing dangerous failures, etc saleens, JDM. Griggs is double shear and tougher. FAYS2 Suspension Fox Body Watts Link these are bar none the best kits out there, but pricey and some will argue you can DIY cheaper. Yet these guys blow everyone away at the tracks including record lap times while encountering other drivers on the track. Also worth noting its all meant as a system so mixing and matching isnt recommended. They also design parts to fail at the cheapest safe location which saves money over time for an abused car. Griggs Racing Products (griggs cobra using all off the shelf parts owning ferrari at their own hill climb event in a VERT!) larger download but a hella sweet video of a griggs 2004 mustang setting a lap record without even tuning the car yet... of course thats the 13.5k bitchin setup. http://gr40cars.com/downloads/videos...p%20Record.mov If just a bit serious go with torque arm panhard bar and a nice subframe kit. Get better bushings too. You will have a nice car with just those mods.

Thanks for the input, sorry it's taken me a while to get back. I'm not really going to be doing and serious racing or autocrossing or anything just looking for something that'll hug the road better, for mountain roads and stuff like that. My max would probably be about $2500 at the moment with maybe a bit more later if I get sorta serious about it.

For $2500, find a KW suspension kit, end links, delrin bushings and call it quits.

![]() alot of good suggestions in here. i would be sure to have full length sub frame connectors welded on, and a good set of rear upper and lower control arms and lowering springs with a good caster camber plate kit. |
