Termi Hood Insulation.
I just took the insulation out because it is starting to fall apart. I dunno how I feel about it being out, and I have heard of paint blistering on cars without it because of the heat.
Problem is if I do decide to keep insulation under the hood I cant find any places that sell it, and I saw one that has where it says Cobra on it painted...can ya guys help me out here? |

I haven't had the insulation on mine for awhile and my paint is fine. It's not a bad idea to replace it, but it will probably be fine for awhile

I haven't heard of any paint issues from removing the insulation other then some of the undersides were not painted from the factory. I don't have a factory hood but do not have any insulation on mine and I running a KB 2.8h so far no issues.

Mine are made of a far superior material to OEM. It's made for airplanes, it's definitely NOT fiberglass.

I have been running without one for over a year now. Never had a problem with heat. I have never seen anyone that has any first hand knowledge of the paint blistering either. It is always, "I have heard that the paint can blister".

I removed mine several years ago. I did get the underside painted and I've had no problems. If you haven't done so, one thing that will help is cutting the flaps off of the hood vents. Alot of heat can be released at that point.

My flaps are gone and I can see the heat pouring out of the vents.
