If the rest of the car is pretty stock, 580 (rwhp) wouldn't surpise me. BTW that's a shit ton of power. That's almost 700 at the crank.

what size KB? a KB2.2 at 21 will make low 620's on pump with stock internals..

Not everybody goes out and gets the most aggressive tune put on their car either. It could be in the high 500s with lots of potential left, and like 1F8LSNK asked above what size is the KB?

I agree with Sonic Snake. IMO, tell your buddy just to go get it tuned properly, and all his questions will be answered. If he's changing pulleys without a tune, he could or will ruin his motor.
Plus, keep in mind what type of Dyno you or your buddy is going to use. A DynoJet will turn much higher rwhp numbers than a Mustang Dyno. So keep that in mind as well. Good luck |

At 21# it really depends on the gas. The difference between pump gas and race gas could easily be well over 100hp. 21# is too much for pump so the power will be way down.

How in the world does someone either buy a KB car or have a KB installed and not know what the horsepower is? Just take it to a shop and strap it to a dyno. It couldn't cost more than $40.
