Those who have done cams/timing set
Have a write up? fluffy i know you did it, in a few months or so i plan on doing some 98 cobra intake cams and figured i might as well do the whole timing set up since the car has 69k on her, just looking for a detailed write up and cant find anything.

I don't have a write up... my friend has some software that had every step....
What I replaced was the entire timing kit and the damper. You'll need a special tool for pulling the damper. Since you're changing cams, you won't need the cam tool set to hold the stockers in place. As for what needed to be removed to get the the timing cover and valve covers off, we had to drain the A/C and radiator. We removed the hood scoop, CAI, Hyrdoboost, A/C compressor, Power Steering Pump, radiator fan, spark plugs, throttle body, and then the valve covers. We also had to disconnect the fuel... just so you know, you're probably going to spill a bit of liquid into your engine bay : D Good times! In order to get the hydroboost out you're going to have to get under your driver's side dash and pull a few bolts for the brakes. It's a pain in the ass. Once you get all of that shit off, you'll need to pull your serpentine belt and pullies off. Then you will pull your timing cover off. The timing kit itself isn't that difficult to take off and replace. It's fairly straight forward and some of the parts are labeled for you. As for replacing cams, I have no idea how to do that part, nor do I have any experience degreeing cams. I've read a couple write-ups on how to do it, but that's the extent of my knowledge on it.

We tried taking the valve covers off by skipping a couple steps, but it wouldn't happen. : (

when i say timing set, im talking the chain guides (i think thats what their called, the tensionors?), sprockets and timing chain, the only thing im confused about and my friends scared to do (hes a tech, but not a 4v tech lawl) is putting the new intake cams in right, as in timed right
