Pulleys
Ok guys the bug is starting to get to me again, and the Cobra can't stay stock for much longer.
I've been looking at pulleys, and have no clue where to start. I don't know about how much boost each pulley will make or anything, or what brands to go with, and which to stay away from. So I could use some help here guys. Thanks. |

There are a lot of options for pulley. Upper or lower, what brand, etc.
You can increase boost with a combo of either. I personally just have an upper (2.93 which is typically just the next size down from the stocker). Right now I am making about 12# of boost. I would like to in the future add a 2# lower. I honestly think that a 4# would be too much for the Eaton and heat soak would start to be an issue even with the port job, but I'm still looking into it. As far as brands you have a lot of choices. I have Billetflow and I would recomend that. I don't think I have heard a single bad thing about their pulleys. You want something that wouln't slip and Billetflow seems to be one of the best. If I where you I would look at idlers and tensioners. Basically anything you can do to keep your belt from slipping.

Every car and setup is going to be a little bit different, but here is a basic breakdown.
2.93-12# 2.8-14# 2.76-15# Than add the lower. Like a 2.93 (12#) + 2# lower= 14# of boost. Like I said, this is just a starting point to give you an idea. I don't want you to think that adding a 2.93 upper and a 2# lower will give you 14# guaranteed. And it is up to you to see how much you want to push the Eaton. They are not known for efficiancy and are called 'Heatons' for a reason. A port job will help. That's is the problem I am facing. I really don't know if I want to run 14# or 16# (ported blower-will be on pump gas 99.999999999999999999999% of the time)

Ok thanks. I was going to head down to JLT (about a 5 min drive from my house) to pick up a rai, and possibly a pulley, but they mostly have metco. I also think I want to go the whipple route somewhere down the road, but will pulley the stock eaton for now.
Gotta get rid of the strut tower brace though. Thanks man. |

I have all Billetflow on mine. I have a 2.76 and the 4 piece idler set. Metco costs a little more, but I'd say that they are a little better quality, but by no means is there anything wrong with Billetflow. With the 2.76 and the Stiegemeier stage 4 ported blower I make 14# of boost. Do you have a hand held tuner? I have a JLT cai on mine. Tucker is a real stand up guy.

I'm running billetflow pullies as well. A 2.76 upper, no lower and the 4 piece ilder kit. I love billetflow's stuff.
Don't forget that you'll need a tune as well obviously when going up that much in boost. Also, some people run into belt slip some don't. I had a bit of belt slip with the recommended 75.1" belt and snub ilder with a 2.76. Going to try a 74.5" belt instead. |

Last year I was running a 2.76 BF as well. Had no belt slip, 4 piece idlers and then dyno'ed on a mustang dyno (14-15#). I personally wouldn't use a handheld tune (Manufactured Tune). Each car is a little different, and the best results is when it's customized to your car specifically. Thats just my 2 cents..... Good luck!
