what kind of clutch do you have? that will tell you how hard you really want to lean on it.

5000-5500 maybe. after a few passes you are going to be able to tell you have been side stepping it. lol
start at 5k and see how it does if it bogs bring the revs up some more. spinning back them down some. stock clutches though do not like being side stepped allot. if you try and get greedy get ready to replace a clutch

i dunno that i would dump the clutch on a drag radial...
i slip the clutch and launch at 4500 for a 1.8....if you can hook a little better, which i assume you should with DR's, then you could probably do a 5000 launch

I launched @ 3,500 on M/T DR on a 17" Cobra R. This was on the stock clutch.
I replaced the toothpick T-45 with a TKO-500 and a SPEC Stage 3+ clutch a year later. Racing is breaking. I'd say start at 4,000.

Well I didn't get to borrow any dr's aparently he had different bolts or some crap than me.. so they wouldn't work.
Anyways I ran a new best of 8.8 at this different track which hooks better. 8.8 on bald tires impressed me big time!

I launch at 5200 on ET Streets, then again nothing in my drivetrain is stock. I broke it all in thy name of racing.

What kind of tq/hp can a 28 spline handle? I don't think he's going to annihilate his GT - I thought the 8.8" is a pretty stout rear end even with the 28 spline?

My buddy hit the track with stickies in his 04 mach 1. 298rwhp. 3200 miles on the odometer. launched at 5000, SNAP. he rolled maybe an inch. its all in the launch. I think the horsepower is irrelevant. Its the dumps that hold issue. Just make sure you preload the car.

I don't want to launch with it revved up I just want to be able to feather it and not spin.
