I was told that there are some things that were upgraded on 04 cobras ? If so what are they ?

the mid pipe is different stock. thats the only thing i can think of right now.

the heads are upgraded, and the stereo comes satelite ready in 2004 (not in 2003). the bezel around the key hole on the door is also a defference. on the 03's they are black. and the 04's they are chrome. the seats came in black suede in 04 as well. but from what i have heard some late 03's had it too. but thats the only differences other than some color differences.

^I thought it was both years. I thought it was just rarer in the 04's. The 03's also had the 10th anniversary edition and the 04's had competition orange to choose from and you also had a mystichrome. There's some "option" differences.

Parchment (light brown) was only available in 03 and is the rare option. Charcoal (black) was only offered in 04 and is the rare option. You can get the grey in any year and that is the most common option. The 10th anniversary cars in 03 had red leather and the MysticChrome cars in 04 had a special leather also.

I had no idea about the satelite ready radio on the 04. You learn something new everyday I guess.

Probably the biggest difference in years is the head design. The early 03 (built before November I believe) are a little more prone to the dreaded 'head tick'. But from what I understand, the head tick doesn't really affect performance, it is just very annoying. And also the number of threads for spark plugs is less in the 03 style heads.

There are a few different options for color. Zinc Yellow was only offered in 03, and Screaming Yellow was only offered in 04. Two very different shades of yellow. And yes, Comp Orange was only offered in 04 and is one of the most rare colors you can get. A Comp Orange 'Vert Cobra is the rarest of them all (only 72 made). Also, the silvers are slightly different from 03 to 04. And of course Dark Shadow Grey and Sonic Blue are only available in 03.

Black, White, Torch Red, and Redfire Metallic are the only colors (I believe) that are available for both years. I might be wrong on that though. I think you might have been able to get both silvers both years. I have a book at home that breaks down all the different options, color combos, and production numbers for each year. I'll have to pull it out and double check when I get off work.

It's called Iron Fist, Lead Foot and it's the story behind the 'Terminator' Cobra and John Colleti. It's a very interesting read for anyone that is a fan of the cars.

I've looked through that link before, but never really read the entire thing. So it says the 04 is satelite ready, but it also says the 03 has a 20-pin aux port in the back. Does that mean that I can pop it out and run a setup to play my iPod?

I think his production list is a little off.

He list Charcoal and Parchment as the only insert colors for 03. I think he was supposed to have Graphite (the gray) and Parchment.

And after looking at the link, I was right about being wrong () on the silver. You could get Satin Silver or Silver Metallic.

And also, I forgot all about Mineral Gray for 03!

honestly not sure. never have wanted to spend cash on that pos 6 disc. i have replaced mine a few times already. the next time i wanna replace it with a monitor.

In my '04 I run an iPod adapter. I believe there are a bunch of companies that make iPod adapters for the '03 since it's a different setup for the 6-disc. The reg has some links for them. I have only found one for the '04s so far but it works like a charm!
