An alignment wouldn't correct this issue. The only way to eliminate the noise is to replace the struts.

so you think strut replacement ? does this typically happen to mustang struts? or could it be cause the car is lowered ?

Lowering the car in a sense makes it worse. Hold old are your struts now?

Because your car is lowered with sportlines I would go with a strut that is made for use with lowered cars. Motorcraft and Monroe are meant for stock applications and have different jounce and rebound specs. An aftermarket strut for lowering springs would improve your ride quality as well. I bet it's kinda bouncy now? Hey?

its not really that bad actually... if i hit a bump though you'll feel it .. not like its bottoming out but a hard but cushioned bounce

Your car is 12 yrs old with OE struts. I'd say replace them with a proper strut now. At the same time replace your rear shocks, they're probably OE as well. Go with a Bilstein or similar.

You take a look around, give me your Yr, make, model and I'll see what I come up with. Whether it be FRPP's or Eibach's. Something will work.

Everytime I've heard of this noise with your symptoms (pop.pop.pop...pop.pop) 98% has been the struts. It is hard to fully diagnose an issue over the web though.

Look around some more. You may find something cheaper elsewhere. I'll search the web as well to see what I find.
