2009 Summer Mach1 Build
After blowing the motor back in January I decided to just go ahead a build the car since I was going to be tearing the the engine apart anyways for repairs. Well for starters I want to get rid of the stock block and pick up something with forged internals. Along with this putting an Eaton on as well. Well already ran into one "oh shit". But decided to work through it. All in all Im trying to keep the build under $8,000.00 If I can. I also shied away from the Teskid block because I don't really like getting things used ( unless I need to). Well here is the basic list as of now. Hope all seems well if not let me know. Don't want another "oh shit".
Current Mods: -BBK Longtube Headers -BBK O/R X Pipes -Magnaflow Cats -BBK Twin 65mm Throttle Body -SCT Livewire Flash Tuner And To Come: -Forged 5.0 Demon Block(Fully Upgraded) 4.6L Ford Forged Short Block at HaneyMotorsport -Edelbrock 60lb Fuel Injectors Edelbrock High Performance Fuel Injectors - 60 lb at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! -Haven't Found Fuel Pump I'm happy with -JLT Cold Air Intake 2003-2004 Mach 1 JLT True Cold Air Intake -SCT Big Air 90mm MAF Meter SCT BA-2600 Mustang Big Air 90MM MAF Meter (96-04 GT, Cobra, and Mach 1) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! -Ford Aluminum Driveshaft Ford FRPP 96-04 GT, 96-98 Cobra, and 03-04 Mach1 Aluminum Driveshaft at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! -Ford 4.10's Motive Gears Ford Mustang 4.10 Gears at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping! -Eaton SuperCharger This is just a quick write-up of what I have in idea ATM. I'm sure some ideas will change but just need opinions ( I don't wanna be attacked either) and advice. Also I have been made aware that the Eaton swap requires additional parts. Main concern is that just want to make sure these parts will work harmoniously. Thanks!

What is the intended use use of the car? If you want a street car a built engine with an eaton and the stock 3.55s is enough. If you want to drag race it then I would skip the eaton and build the rear. It won't be reliable with the stock engine let alone a supercharger. Knowing it will stay together allows you to have more fun at the track. If you just ride around town and don't run it hard often the eaton will provide more excitement.

It's intended use is for street right now. I wanted something to where in the future upgrades can be made.

You'll want to upgrade your fuel pump as well to either a Focus pump or GT pump (preferred). Just a question, but why the Eaton? Unless you get a good deal on a used Eaton swap it's going to cost about as much as a new kit. And you'll be limited on your HP with the Eaton. If that's what you want to do just to do it then cool, but you can be making a lot more power with a different S/C for just a little more cash.

I would keep a lookout for a used procharger kit. Less parts and not as involved as the eaton and a lot more upgradeable.

Check out these injectors: Siemens Deka 63lb/hr USCAR Injectors (Set of 8) (Flow Matched) [LU107FM-8] - $399.00 : Performance Parts - Ford Mustang - Cobra - Dodge Viper - Chevy Corvette - C6 - LS1
Those are the injectors I'm currently running. 63lb injectors and they're flowmatched. And cheaper than the ones you have listed. I know plenty of people that are running this brand of injector. For the fuel pump setup, if you have the cash I'd look into Fore. Check out lethalperformance.com and look at their fuel setups. Very nice stuff. As for the intake, it looks like you have one listed for a Mach 1? But if you're doing the Eaton swap, you're going to need an intake for a Cobra. I'm running the JLT high boost intake, but I'll tell you right now it's a bitch to install. You may want to look at the ram air intake for the Cobra. a lot of tuners have mentioned that it's easier to tune with and is much easier to install. |

Go with a the KB, don't waste your time with the Eaton. I mean you could spray the car, and get over 600rwhp, but you're limited with the eaton.

If you wantt o keep it under $8k and build your engine, I see why you'd go with the eaton. IF you have the ability to spend more, go with something stronger : )

On another note, contacted Haney Motorsports yesterday. As far as the block is concerned all looks good. The Rep said its pretty much pull everything off the old block and put onto the one. They make it sound so simple. Now this block runs a lower CR than the stock block. around 9:1 instead of the Stock 10:1 and is rated for 700rwhp- 800rwhp. Personally never plan to go that high.

What about the Kenne Bell doesn't "make you happy"? The Mach kit is a 2.1 correct? What kind of HP numbers are you looking for when all is said and done?

I was successful with my nitrous setup. It's like anything else, you just have to do it right. The room for error might be smaller, but it's the best bang for the buck. I like the way a nitrous motor pulls compared to a boosted car.

I'd rather not consider spray for the time being.
