Clutch cable help, or suggestions

OK, my Dad has a 98 Cobra with 22k on it. It sits in the garage for months at time. I pulled it out the other day just to let it run move the tires. It grinds going in to reverse no matter what. It doesnt grind in any other gear but evertime in reverse. I know that reverse isnt meshed and has spur gears and assume thats why the noise is only there. That being said it leads me to believe that it is just that the clutch cable needs adjustment.
Just looking for some thoughts/opinions on this. Has anyone experienced this before? If you guys agree, do you reccomend the Steeda cable adjustment? Thanks

Ive got the steeda kit and have used it on both my current cobra and my old fox and always performed well. Have you tried throwing it in 5th then reverse to see if it still grinds?

It grinds no matter what other gear I'm coming from. He said it started about a year ago, but that was only about 400 miles ago

I wouldn't think it would be the clutch cable, but its cheap so it would be a start.

I've had this problem too! I have a 1998 SVT Cobra, and my car grinds when i put it into reverse and sometimes it wont even go into reverse it will just stop and then i let out the clutch slowly and it will go back but still grinds. It doesnt do this all the time just once in a while. Sometimes its fine and if i go to 5th and back sometimes it fixes it sometimes it doesnt.
