nutnbutcustm: i would just have put a new clip on the cobra but we bought it knowing the title was for parts only so that wasn't possible. and maybe ill get the tail lights smoked, ill put them back on and do some photoshopping and show what it would look like. Were putting the whole suspension on it also. it will ride a little better and its also a little lower then the v6 suspension and the wheels are going to be put on too, i might not do that right away cuz i want to get them painted to a darker color. The silver looks a little weird on my car, cuz its about the same color. A darker silver or grey would look great.

Molitor: it is going pretty smooth except for the anti theft module, but that is the only thing so far.

mmikeclass06: were trying to keep the silver car together for as long as we can, its my daily driver and i need it to get back and forth to school. We are just trying to get all the parts off the cobra then put them on my car so it involves the least amount of time w/o a car.

last night i noticed a bracket was bent and crushing some wires. After removing the bracket we found out 2 wires were shorting out. One of the wires was the crankshaft sensor. After repairing the wire it started right up. The engine sounds great and exhaust is loud. This is such a relief knowing the engine is fine and starts now. Now onto swapping stuff out.

Goals this weekend
Swap rear end
Swap rear end suspension
Swap fuel tank
Swap exhaust

Molitor: More pics right now.

Today we got the engine, tranny, front suspension, k member, all the exhaust except the cat back, and wiring harness out. Was fairly easy to do just about 20 bolts. Now to clean the engine up. I did a quick clean on one of the head covers and looks 1000 times better.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet butter! keep the v6 mustang body parts and do some hustling with the import crowd. tell em you got a v6 with dual exhaust. race all the ricers and woop ass! BTW, run some sort of cleaner like Mopar or seafoam in that motor, get it cleaned out.

98Cobra_sleeper: lol i bet when the cars done and u look at it, u will think v6 with dual but it wont be.

JiMi_DRiX: if you want the interior i am selling it, i will think about all offers.

this week im going to try to clean it as best as i can. does anyone know of any degreasers that work good? I dont want to just use dawn and water, i just want some kind of a wipe.

just get some of the Supertech carb cleaner. its a dollar a can, and you dont have to wipe it off, it'll dry. alotta the degreasers you have to hose off afterward. just get a case of the Supertech carb cleaner and a cloth, spray and wipe away. it worked well on my cobra motor

Simplegreen works well too for cleaning up the motor. Glad to see everything seems to be coming along well. Since you already have the motor out put some long tubes on that bad boy and get rid of those rusty manifolds. While your at it do a complete tune up.

I dont' have them on my car only because the gains aren't worth the time and effort IMO. Its a pain in the ass to install. Thats why I suggested doing them while you have the engine out of the car.

I was a tight fit for mine, it was a zero fun install

Sorry about the lack of post lately. Weve been working hard

Thursday we got the rear end, exhaust, and gas tank in the car.
Yesterday we got the engine dropped out. Just started to work on the wiring.
Today we got the doors done, The back wiring done, all the locks switched over, and all the wiring up to the seats.
Hopefully tomorow we can get all the wiring done and get the interior put back together so this week we only have to work on getting the engine in. Were waiting for 2 more parts. Hopefully they come this week.
Ill try to update pics either tomorrow or Monday.

Ok finally for some updates.

We had to cut the spot welds off the old tranny boot plate and weld it onto mine. the auto one is a little different then the manual so we had to fix that. And the tranny mounts were in a different spot then the old ones so we had to take the ones off the cobra and cut the ones on the v6 off and put the new ones on. Other then that its been a fairly clean swap.

You can see where we cut the old trans mounts off and put the new ones on in the upper right corner.

You can see the new part of the boot bracket. The black is some undercoating that we sprayed around the exposed edges to keep it from rusting.
