Switch or pump??

Got in the car this morning to get some Biscuit Holes from Hardees!!
Noticed the oil pressure gage went up then quickly dropped. I revved the engine just a little, it went back to normal.............let it idle and it fell again! Maintained a constant high idle and it went back up. Went on to town and got the biscuit holes and all the way there and back it was fine, just above halfway where it has been all along. I'm thinking and hoping switch. Never once heard any rattling as if the oil wasn't pumping but sure need to get it checked out.

Any experience like this out there??

the switch could be gummed up or faulty but theres really only one way to tell, you could pull it out and clean the pressure passage way but if you have it out you might as well replace it.

i dont know what kind of oil you use but if you use a cheaper oil or use a lot of oil additives the pressure passage way will get clogged.

my $.02

Thanks, might have to try that. Drove it after that and everything was A OK.

Think it's a glitch in the switch!!
