firebird firehawk; a GT500 killer?

so i was on STSTurbo's website, and on the testimonials page this woman claims that her stock '01 firehawk beat corvettes AND GT500's before she put a turbo system on her car. She claims it has 355hp before the turbo. Now i know firehawks are kinda the Cobra R's of the pontiac world, but come on, beatin a GT500 with 355hp. i smell bullshit!

i know camaro/firebird/trans am people are pretty confident cause their cars are more "powerful" than mustangs, but this woman must be on crack, or she seriously has a factory freak

As much as I hate new GT500s, if the Firehawks are only ~335hp, they'd have to be down around 2600 lbs just to hang with one.

Maybe she meant original GT-500s?

the firehawks are stout, but it also depends on driver (still sounds like BS). i have seen factory freaks run the ls1 vettes, but not beat them with equal drivers. a shelby on the other hand, not after it gets its weight rolling.

yea i agree. maybe its just like my friend who has a honda. he as an older accord, stock, and he tells me (straight faced) periodically that he raced stangs, vettes, chargers and he's beaten them all. he says yeah i wooped em up, they didnt' know that we were racing, but i still won. lol.

It's not uncommon to see the SLP optioned cars dynoe'ing at 310-320+ to the rear wheels.

It is slow. So was the SS, but the SS was a little quicker when I was spraying the 150 shot.

I've never heard that low. 12.8 is the best that I have seen, and even that is rare. But it's still not hard for me to believe a stock f-body beating a GT500. Just because someone owns a GT500, doesn't mean they have a low 12 second ride.

I have just gotten used to people making rediculous claims. Although anything can happen on the street. It's all about the driver. I saw a guy at our local track running 13.5's and 13.6's with his brand new 08 GT500.

Unless you have comparable drivers you can't say that one car doesn't beat another.

my buddy Jamie, he is on rwhp.us, he ran a 12.56 on his stock 01 SS, now he has full exhaust, short throw shifter, and UDP and runs low 13's due to loss of traction. their are a few articles on stock LS1 cars running 12's.
