5 speed vs 6 speed 1/4 times


i just lost 2nd gear and am going to get my transmission either rebuilt or buy a 6 speed but will a 6 speed give me better or worse 1/4 miles times?

worse, 6 spd is more for auto x. less gears the better for drag. less time loss shifting

also depends on gearing of the t56. the t56 can get it just as well, but that long first gear can be a pain. the t56's can be built to hold a ton of power, and have been proven to do it.

Theres not much of a difference in gas mileage, 5th and 6th are both overdrive gears, but I will tell you this. The T56 is one hell of a stout transmission and a fucking blast to rip through the gears with. If you want something for racing...why not put in a built auto which is what you should have for drag racing if your serious about it.
