fuel pump question

So I've been dealing with this annoying stalling problem thats been getting worse and worse over the last few months, and I have finally narrowed it down to the fuel pump. The local stealership quoted me $455 (haa! you f*cking kidding me?) I have seen Airtex and Walbro replacements for anywhere from $60-$160, and then I have seen a OEM pump on one site for around $100.

My question is this - the same site had OEM svt Focus pump assemblies for a few bucks more that supposedly push 255lph as opposed to the stock cobra's 190lph. Is this true? And if so, is it actually gonna make a difference for me or should I just go with the stock replacement? this a pretty straightforward swap? Id rather have a little extra to support my minor mods and whatever else I might wanna do in the future...

Thanks in advance...

if not going to do much really, just do a stock replacement. hell, i think i have a couple laying around here somewhere if you are a little tight on money. the swap isnt bad, especially for a stock replacement.

Did you replace the pump yet? I had the same probem with mine. Garage said it was the fuel pump. Wanted a few hundred to do it. No thanks. I ordered up a Walbro and baught a chiltons. Swapped it out.wtfo problem still there. Checked the fuel pressue test port, pressure was good. Injectors checked out. Couple hours and beers later my garage light blew when i had it idling, and sure as shit i saw flashes. Ended up being a bad plug wire grounding out. Whole time i thought it was fuel cause it kept cutting out an stalling. Good luck!!
