Well guys.. I finally got around to switching out the stock airbox back in and taking the FIPK kit out... It doesn't cut off anymore! I'm going to throw in a K&N air filter, I hope they're are actually some advantages to switching back to the stock airbox. Anyways, if anyone wants my FIPK kit just let me know.

this is the reason why I am thinking of going with a C&L and ditching my JLT. Some people dont experience these problems with fenderwell while others have to either live with it or go back to stock, as in your case. How does she idle now?

Hey wraitherx. She idles like the day I bought her, man.. And she pulls very good, too. I love this car, man. Why are you thinking you should go with the C&L?

Well, I have the same problem that you were experiencing. I thought that with the cams and engine work that I needed a better tune so i got Joe (Tricktuners) to tune her up. His tunes were spot on and now my stalling/idling issue isnt as predominant as before. What used to happen almost everyday is now down to every once in awhile, once or twice monthly now. So I am grateful to him for always taking care of me. I started just like you checking every little thing and ruled everything out and then I took some abs plastic and created an airbox to surround the front of the air filter to stop the turbulent air from entering during decel and that helped out and has pretty much went away. I dont really like JLT's design, for numerous reasons, so I wanted to get a C&L so that i can just do away with the problem. Id rather have something fixed then apply a band aid to it. Know what I mean?

I definitely understand what you mean, man. I've heard several other guys say that they don't like JLT. Why don't you like it?

The ecu adds a ton of fuel to compensate for the huge rush of air seen at the maf, but the air never makes it in so it stalls out. If this is not your setup, then the tune could use a little more adjusting to dial it in better.
I had a similar problem after installing my carbon fiber JLT CAI. Engine would cut off at idle. Solution: Make sure you tighten all the hose clamps when installing any aftermarket intake!!! My Termi' was throwing a code saying that both banks were lean, this is because one of the hose clamps weren't tight enough so the engine was not getting the air that the MAF was telling it it was; so it was injecting more fuel.

I tightened all the clamps properly and have not had any problems since.

Hey guys,

I have a supercharged 01 mustang that is having about the same problem. The difference is that the car is an AOD and seems to cut off when downshifting at stop signs and such. It doesn't do it everytime but when it does cut off I put the car in neutral and it starts right back up. I was told it could be the car loading up because of the supercharger but that didn't sound right to me.

I posted on another thread that I was adding some LEDs to my car for a meth injection and once I installed them my fuel pressure gauge started reading 4 or 5 psi rather than the normal 20psi. Now I am wondering if I have knocked something lose.

Is that sea foam trick in the oil good with sythetic oil? Had a buddy mention sea foam to me the other day and swore by the stuff, but was unsure about mixing it with a synthetic motor oil. Actually can't wait to try it. I can only imagine the sh*t that is going to come out of it!!

As some others have mentioned it is pretty common with our car's, most notably the Terminators. Mine did it a few times, but ever since I got it retuned it hasn't done it. *knock on wood* It has to do with the returnless fuel system. Never heard of it being a problem with the intake. lol Is your car tuned?

I have never had the car tuned. I haven't really added too many things to it yet. Do they make a huge difference with just having done the basics of opening up with a CAI, exhaust, timing, and underdrive pulley kit? O figured the computer could adjust to the difference the mods made. Am i mistaken? Many posts in regards to this has said it could be too much fuel being sent by the NAF being fooled. Would adding a spark booster like the ones offered by MSD make a difference by providing a stronger and more continuos spark to brun off that fuel?

Just dont go crazy the first few times if its really clogged.

I would go progressively stronger until you reach what I recommended (1/3 can).

Think of it this way, whatever breaks off has to go somewhere. I'd rather break off small pieces with a less potent mixture over a few times instead of a potent mixture first time that lands big solid chunks in your oil pan.

Just start light and get stronger and stronger. By the time you run that final potent mix, all the major stuff will have broken off and you will get the remaining stubborn pieces.

Just read the label about other products.... many say to drop the oil pan after and get the big deposits that fall out otherwise it could damage/clog something. I'd rather not do that, so my first few times knowing no one ever seafoamed the car, I used a smaller quantity.

** This holds true more for crankcase applications but still the first few in the PCV I would let sit longer with a smaller amount. **
