Bad TPS

I need to know if the throttle position sensor on my 03 Cobra could be bad. Will replacing it make the car idle normally and are they year or engine specific, I found one at cj pony parts but Im not sure if it will fit to my motor.

I got a ford factory one from Steve @ Tousley Ford Parts Depot. The only way to tell if it is bad is by doing a resistance test on it between the reference wire and ground wire IIRC. Just cause your Idle isnt normal doesnt mean that it is bad. It could also be a vacuum leak or even a bad IAC. What are your mods so that we may further assist you with this problem you are experiencing.

Well the idle is more than a little off, not only is it dropping low and stalling EVERY time im at a stop, it also gets stuck at 1100 and stays there unless i gently pump the gas pedal...its just gotten worse in the last few weeks and Ive already sprayed the IAC but that didnt seem to help. I think the TPS is cheap but these scanners and tuners used to test things like this arent cheap...Thats why I figured Id just replace it. I have no mods, just an SLP loudmouth 2 catback, thats it. I mean it started out idling funny and dropping low but then bumping back up, then it started stalling once every time I would start it up and leave work...Now its doing it several times coasting to a stop until the cars been driven a few miles...Really becomming a P.I.A.
