Predetonation?

My car is makin a wierd rattling noise in the engine compartment at about 2500rpms and up. I have checker for loose parts everywhere and have found nothing could this be caused by predetonation? I have 4valve mark 8 motor in my 01 gt with the factory gt tune.

it could be, but at the same time it could be a couple of other things... what kind of mods do you have done. And does it do this when you get on it?

Just does it driving normally through the gears cant hear it at wot.

Got a full tank of 92 and some octane booster doesnt seem to quiet down somethin must be loose.

These engines would never take a few seconds of preignition before melt down. Built or not. Preignition is MUCH worse that detonation, not something that comes before detonation. Its usually that detonation leads to preignition (run away advance)
