Yeah because they stopped buying outsourced Teksids in 99.... the 2001 Cobra and 03/04 Mach 1 used the Ford built WAP block which freaking sucks for power.

So being unable to buy Teksids anymore, and their own casting was a much weaker POS, they went with iron..... I'd say they knew what they were doing and if they were allowed to use the Teksid, that they would have. They saved the 03/04 Cobra from a WAP block recall hell.

The only block Ford casts in Aluminum that's worth a damn is the GT block. And now a reinforced wet sump version is in the new GT500 and people were making 2000-4000 horsepower through the old Ford GT blocks..... I'd say the new GT500 block will be insane. Time will tell.

I live at 13 & Woodward

1 block off Woodward on the same street as the famous RedCoat Tavern.

You wanna hook up?

We will be down there again in the show. Last year I was the only 02-04 that had a Mach 1000 sound system. Its kind of cool though. It makes it sort of unique.

The block isn't in question, the stock internals of a mark are gonna be about the 400 mark,(Same internals as a 2 valve, well material that is.) but thats about it unless you really have a good tune. For what most people want for a daily drive I think that plenty. The block itself from what I've read its in the 1500+ hp range.

Pistons are different than 2 valve
Rods are same
Crank is the same
